Projektet i denna rapport har fokuserat på positionering av bärhjulen till Kiln i Kiruna på LKAB. Kiln är en roterande ugn där pelletskulorna sintras, vilket är ett steg i pelletiseringsprocessen. För att positionera Kiln i axial-och vertikalled justeras bärhjulen manuellt genom att snedställas mot Kiln eller att centrum på bärhjulen förflyttas till/ från Kiln.Arbetet som är beskrivet i denna rapport är tänkt att fungera som ett förarbete inför konstruktion av ett automatiserat system för justering av bärhjulen till Kiln. Ett automatiserat justeringssystem av Kiln kan förenkla positioneringen, öka livslängden samt öka tillförlitligheten för hela Kiln-systemet.Även innan ett automatiserat system har implementerats kan ovan nämnda fördelar uppnås, då detta arbete även skall fungera som ett stöd för underhållet vid positionering av Kiln. Ett positioneringsstöd kan bidra till att undvika produktionsstörningar pga.

The forest in the county of Småland has been utilised for a long time. One of the most important forms of utilisation of wood has been charcoaling for the benefit of the iron industry. Shortage of forest in relation to the iron industry, was discussed already in the 17th century in Sweden. The aim of this study was to analyse the purchase and consumption of charcoal at Storebro Bruk, an ironwork in Småland, during the period 1793-1850, as well as analyse the shortage of forest at the time. To determine the utilisation of the forest in the area, I have used historical sources from Storebro Bruksarkiv.

In this report focus is put on the combustion process at a cement plant. Combustion is the heart of the cement making process and absolutely crucial to have under full control and well optimized. The fuel is put into the process through a burner pipe and this burner pipe is modified to reach a more efficient combustion. The primary target is to enable burning of heterogeneous alternative fuels and increase the production level. Other positive effects from this type of optimization is lowered specific fuel consumption and lowered CO2 emissions. A redundant burner is chosen for the project and overall the project steps are the following: 1. LKAB har tre kulsinterverk av s k grate-kiln typ, två stycken i Kiruna samt ett i Svappavaara. I grate-kiln systemet sker torkning och förvärmning av råkulor på en bandugn (grate), vidare bränning/sintring i en roterugn (kiln) och slutligen värmeåtervinning vid kylning av pelletsen i en roterande kylare. Rosterplattorna (grateplattorna) är tillverkade av ett gjutet värmebeständigt rostfritt material. Tidigare har livslängden på dessa plattor varit ca 2,5-3 år. Under de senaste åren har dock plattorna uppvisat betydligt större slitage än tidigare, och åtgärder måste vidtas för att uppnå en godtagbar livslängd på grateplattorna.

In this study I have analysed the history of a forest belonging to Saxåhyttan in Värmland. The study area is 448 hectares and has been used by iron industry since the 16th century. A forest that has been used by man during at least 400 years should have few ecological values. This inventory however shows the opposite. The aim of the study is to interpret the history of the forest in the area, i. e.

Chinas government has a multifunctional program for a more sustainable forestry since 2000. This six key forest programs goal is to develop a more sustainable forest sector but also take environment consideration. The state forest administration in China has decided to create 5.8 million hectare of fast growing and high yield forest. Eucalyptus has showed to have good properties for pulp and timber production and therefore Eucalyptus plantations are under development in costal areas in southern China. By adding extra nutrients, growth can be enhanced in Eucalyptus plantations.

In order to facilitate testing of anesthesia machines a patient simulator has been required by Maquet Critical Care AB. A patient simulator has been developed to reduce expensive and time consuming animal experiments and temporary lab arrangements. The patient simulator has been developed and designed to simulate human lungs with regards to anesthetic uptake, production of carbon dioxide and heating and moisturizing exhaled air.The system comprises a container and a test lung to simulate the volume and the dynamic of the human lung. The simulation of uptake of anesthetics has been implemented by pumping a fraction of the gas from the container through a bypass circuit with an active charcoal filter that adsorbs volatile anesthetics. The flow through the bypass circuit is generated by a pump and is controlled by a linear valve.The resulting performance of the patient simulator has fulfilled the requirements.

Causticising department is the final step in the chemical recycling unit. There, the filtered green liquor is mixed with lime to recover the cooking chemicals used in the pulp factory. The cooking liquid is called white liquor.

The manor Fållnäs gård is situated at the northern end of the bay Fållnäsviken, c. 12 km north-west of Nynäshamn, Sweden. A 300 cm long sediment core collected in the bay has been analyzed regarding pollen stratigraphy. AMS 14C dating of terrestrial macrofossils indicates that the sequence covers the last c. 5400 years.The aim has been to study vegetational changes, especially human impact, in the surroundings of Fållnäs gård.

Det här examensarbetet går ut på att utreda vilken påverkan oljeval och inkörningsmetod har på tätning mellan kolvring och cylindervägg i en fyrtaktsmotor. Arbetet har utförts på en motorcykel av märket Honda och modellen heter CBR 954 RR årsmodell 2003. Det diskuteras dagligen i tidningar, på internet och i garage runt om i världen om vilken typ av inkörning som är effektivast för att få en motor att gå bra och hålla länge. Vissa bil- och mctillverkare har helt tagit bort sina inkörningsrekommendationer medan andra fortfarande har kvar rekommendationen att man ska köra lugnt och på låga varvtal under ett visst antal mil. Eftersom att inkörningen påverkar väldigt många parametrar så finns inte möjlighet att testa hur olika oljeval och inkörningsmetoder påverkar alla dessa parametrar.

The popularity of vegetated, or green roofs, has grown over the past years due to their potential function of maintaining urban environment quality. The aim of this study was to investigate if substrates with different organic material, peat and charcoal, with two contents (3 or 6 weight%) influenced the growth of the cuttings during the first critical period of the establishment. Biochar is used as amendment to agricultural soils and has, theoretically, many of the properties suitable as organic content in green roof-substrates. Peat is one of the materials that is commercially used in green roof industry. The substrate has been treated with different amounts of water.

Fire is an important ecological factor, but its consumption of coarse woody debris, CWD, has hardly received any attention. In this study, I investigate the consumption in relation to the time of initial flame exposure and propensity for continued combustion of standing CWD of pine (Pinus sylvestris). Although Dan Andersson (1888-1920) is considered perhaps the most important of the early Swedish workingclassauthors, there has not been much research on his work. Through a perspective based on critical whitenessstudies, intersectionality and existential phenomenology, this thesis performs a close reading of Andersson?sKolarhistorier (1914) and Chi-mo-ka-ma (1920) in order to map the discursive formations of whiteness andblackness in the texts, as well as to expose how these formations interrelate with that of humanhood.Since an underprivileged situation of oppression and poverty is the point from which the fictional worldunfolds in both Kolarhistorier and Chi-mo-ka-ma, whiteness is not an existential style within close reach for thecharacters. In Kolarhistorier the charcoal-burners claim themselves as ?weary of whiteness? and accordingly thetext establishes what the thesis reads as a realm of blackness where the black, male body becomes a locus ofpleasure instead of despair.
